Year 5 – Ukulele and composition
Year 6 – History of Music and Music Technology

Newham Music Collaboration
We are working with Newham Music hub again this year and have been awarded Enrichment lessons for Year 4 and Year 5 on a Wednesday after school. We have 20 spaces available for your children to learn the saxophone. These lessons are free of charge and a saxophone and music book will be supplied.
Glee Club
Our Glee Club will once again be taking part in the biggest children’s choir at Young Voices’ O2 concert in January 2023. If your child would like to sign up for the club, please speak to the office.
Year 6 End of Year Show
22-23 Year 6 End of Year show will be ‘The Jungle Book’. From the success of our 2021-22 ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ we cannot wait to bring Mowgli’s story to life at Scott Wilkie.
KS1 Nativity – ‘Whoops – a – Daisy Angel’
Key Stage One will be performing ‘Whoops – a Daisy Angel’ as their Nativity in December 2022. We are hoping this will be in front of a live parent audience this year and look forward to the children preparing this performance for you.
WORLD MUSIC DAY 2022!
What a day! The students of Scott Wilkie had a jam packed day of musical activities and assemblies on the 21st June. We were visited by African Activities who delivered African drumming, singing and dancing workshops throughout the day, Britain’s Got Talent semi finalists Youth Creation who were fantastic in their street dance workshop and World Record beatboxer Experimental, who gave us some insight into the world of human beatboxing in our World Music Day assembly.
The students have also been learning ‘Sing’ by Gary Barlow which they sang as a whole school.
Well done to all the students of Scott WIlkie!
Young Voices Thursday 5th May 2022
The Glee Club had an amazing time at The O2, London performing in the biggest children’s choir in the world for Young Voices (8,000 children attended the Thursday concert alone). With guest singers, X Factor star and platinum selling artist Rebecca Ferguson and the ‘Go Compare Man’ himself, Wynne Evans. It was lovely to hear the feedback from our Scott Wilkie parents who attended the concert and I would like to thank the parents for their support throughout the year. Thank you also to Miss Clarke, Miss Dallas and our two parent helpers who came with us (we’re glad you got to ‘Eat, Sleep, Rave, Repeat!)
A huge well done to the Glee Club, you are all superstars!

We are working with Newham Music hub again this year and have been awarded Enrichment lessons for Year 4. We have 20 spaces available for your children to learn the saxophone. These lessons are free of charge and a saxophone and music book will be supplied. Please ask your child’s class teacher for a letter and send the reply as quickly as possible.
We also have our GLEE Club on Tuesday’s after school, which is a whole show choir (all singing, all dancing) who will be learning songs and routines throughout the year. They will have the opportunity to perform at The O2 for Young Voices’ 25th Anniversary. If your child would like to sign up for the club, please speak to the office.
The Glee Club will be taking part in the Festival of Youth in association with Newham Music which will take place at the Olympic Velodrome on the 6th July 2022. The 2022 Festival of Youth will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games which took place largely in our own Newham borough! It will also mark the return of large-scale, in-person music performances for our young people as we bring 2,000 children and young people together for an interactive day of music-making and performance.
Our End of Year 6 leavers show will be ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’. After the success of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ last year, we will again hopefully be able to invite parents into the school to watch the show LIVE!
Saxophone Enrichment lessons – Year 4
The group have been doing really well this term learning their new skills on the saxophone. They have learnt two songs and can play the C Major scale. With our new Newham Music teacher beginning in January, we hope the children will progress even further!
‘The Big Little Nativity’
KS1 did a fantastic job performing their Nativity on Friday 17th December! This is now on Google Classroom for you to view! (attach other two photos please)
