‘Striving to provide a world class education to create world class citizens.’
At Agate Momentum Trust, we believe that every child has the right to succeed regardless of their socio-economic background and despite any barriers they may have to their learning.
We are research driven to ensure that teaching and learning is based on the most effective practice. We have implemented the best strategies from across the UK and from the world such as Singapore maths and well being approaches from Finland. We work closely with education partners including Pie Corbett (Talk for Writing), Nikki Gamble (Just Imagine) and Maths No Problem.
Our aim is to help each and every child reach their full potential.
We encourage our children to be critical thinkers and resilient problem solvers who are willing to take risks.
We believe that intelligence is not fixed so we nurture a growth mind-set in our children so they learn that if they work hard, they can succeed.
We have carefully planned and created a broad and balanced curriculum which strives to equip all of our children with the cultural capital they need to succeed in life.
We follow the national curriculum and have adopted a subject specific approach which allows children to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding.
We endeavour to create ‘word rich’ pupils who are equipped with the language they need to succeed academically in all curriculum areas.
We use a mastery approach to all curriculum areas, so all our learners, with effort, will achieve.
We plan low floor, high ceiling lessons which all of our students can access.
Our children are challenged to think at greater depth, connect new knowledge with existing knowledge and embed key concepts into their long-term memory so that they can apply their learning in a range of different contexts.
We strive to spark our children’s curiosity and encourage them to raise their own questions by providing exciting, first hand, real life, practical learning experiences for every topic we teach.
We actively promote oracy across all curriculum areas in order to create eloquent citizens of the future. We encourage our children to articulate their thoughts clearly and find various ways to show that they understand and can challenge each other’s way of thinking.
We value every child and endeavour to nurture happy, well rounded, global citizens who are life-long learners.
